"The Home School of Elocution"
or easy Lessons in the Art of Entertaining 1896. This book is a
choice treasury of new and popular recitations, readings, original and
adapted comedies from celebrated authors and composers including descriptive,
pathetic, humorous recitals with music for schools, public exhibitions,
anniversaries, and programs for entertainment on special occasions, etc.
It has been compiled and edited by Henry Davenport Northrop and richly
embellished with full-page photo-type engravings. This is just a fabulous
book, the pictures alone are worth the price. The book has 366 pages in
it but I believe some of the last ones in the parliamentary rules and
practice section are missing. The condition of the book is very sad, the
front and back covers are very worn and stained, the binding is broken
and some of the middle pages are loose but it still is a wonderful old
book.
